Lead with Heart, Serve with Purpose

“As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

1 Peter 4:10

Our Ideas for this Year

Student Talks

Each month, we will invite a new guest speaker to share their knowledge, experiences, and expertise with our students. Whether it’s a local entrepreneur, police officer, firefighter, stay-at-home mom, lawyer, or another community leader, there are so many successful and inspiring people we can learn from. These conversations will give students the opportunity to hear different perspectives, ask questions, and gain valuable insight into a variety of careers and life experiences.

Guest speakers will take place during lunch.

Breakout Sessions

Each month or every other month, we will offer separate breakout sessions for girls and guys focused on relevant topics, faith, and personal growth. Guest speakers will lead the girls’ sessions, while a male pastor will speak with the guys. With snacks and beverages provided, these sessions will create a comfortable and welcoming environment for honest conversation, encouragement, and fellowship. Our hope is to provide a space where students can connect, ask questions, and grow together.

Guest speakers will take place during lunch.

Underclassmen Pizza Lunch

To celebrate our underclassmen and all they have contributed to our school community throughout the year, we will host a pizza lunch at the end of the school year! This will be a fun opportunity to relax, enjoy some good food, and celebrate the year together.

Mila Denison

Hi! My name is Mila Denison, and I am a junior at SCCS. I have attended this school since kindergarten, and throughout the years, SCCS has become so much more than a school to me, it has become a community that I deeply love and am incredibly grateful to be a part of. Growing up surrounded by teachers, staff, and students who have encouraged and supported me has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. It is an incredible honor to now serve that same community as your SLC President.

This year, I am excited to work alongside Mr. Acosta, Mrs. Lawson, our SLC Vice President Lila Sperberg, our Cabinet, and the entire SLC to make this school year one of the best yet. I am looking forward to creating opportunities for students to get involved, build relationships, and make lasting memories together.

Being involved on campus has always been an important part of my experience at SCCS. I currently serve as an editor for the Red Feather Review and have been a member of our school choir since eighth grade. I have also had the opportunity to participate in several of our sports programs, and this year, I am excited to join our soccer program. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of teamwork, commitment, leadership, and community.

My greatest emphasis this year is learning not only how to serve Christ, but how to serve one another through love, kindness, and humility, with the ultimate purpose of glorifying the Lord. My hope is that we can continue to cultivate a community rooted in Christ’s love and reflect the fruits of the Spirit in the way we speak to, encourage, and treat one another.

As your SLC President, I want students to know that I am here for you. Whether you have a question, an idea, a concern, or simply want someone to talk to, I want to be someone you feel comfortable reaching out to. I hope that together we can create a year where every student feels seen, valued, included, and connected to our SCCS community.

I am so excited to see what this year holds and, most importantly, what the Lord has in store for our school. My prayer is that we continue to grow closer to Christ and to one another as we make this year one to remember!

Lila Sperberg

Hi, I’m Lila Sperberg, and I’m so excited for the opportunity to be your Student Body Vice President! I am currently a Junior here at SCCS, and I love the Christ-centered community that thrives on this campus. This is truly such a special school, full of teachers and students who are on fire for the Lord, and I’m so thankful to be a part of it.

I love getting involved in student life and the community. Around campus, I am currently a member of SLC, The Red Feather Review, Choir, and Volleyball. Outside of school, I love working with youth through coaching, tutoring, and serving at my church, Grace Community, as well as hanging out with friends and playing sports.

The primary thing I would love to see accomplished this year throughout our school is Unity in Christ. There will be a huge emphasis on fellowship, whether that be through in-class discussions, sports events, or off-campus activities. Our goal for this year is to really make sure that Christ is at the center of it all, even when life gets crazy. An extension of this goal would be making sure that everyone feels loved and included on our campus, and that no one ever feels alone. We want this school to be a safe place of discipleship, where no one feels unwelcome.

I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for this year, and I’m always available to talk if you have any questions, need encouragement, or have any ideas for the upcoming year!
